New York Knitters

When you travel to Rhinebeck you must enjoy the sites of New York.  I never tire of the beautiful architecture!

Rhinebeck 2014

This was as amazing.  Weather not as good as two years ago - but the queues at Miss Babs and Dragonfly yearns were amazing!

We bought lots!

You can see is rather overcast!
But the goats enjoyed it!
And I found lots of monomania friends!

I just love the glass buttons from Moving Mud

Vancouver

OK I could not resist showing you the spin cycle year I found and bought in Vancouver.
This is the most beautiful city and a great cycle.  We stayed near StanleyPark and hired bikes to cycle around.  I fond the most fabulous yarn shop
Urban Yarns http://www.urbanyarns.com/  .  They had just taken a delivery and here is devilish Grin - I had one on my face when I left.
I was totally tempted by their amazing selection of Madelinetosh .... Oh and lorna's laces !!

The first picture is near the University of British Columbia and the yarn shop.

This is the view from the cycle path around Stanley Park.  If you are brave - cycle across the bridge and up into Whistle country!
Or visit the lake below.  Planed with water lillies, sadly this has caused it to slowly disappear!

Seattle

Before I leave Seattle I must add that there are plenty of interesting sights, for example the library!

And this is the top floor!

Then we were off on the train along the coast and up to Vancouver (so much faster than by car - although I could not resist taking a picture of this typical American lorry)   passing through the legendary Bellingham where some lovely spincycle year comes from - you must know it?  Monomania!

Seattle - the view

Here I am very pleased with the Chruchmouse Tea and yarn shop
I found Plucky!
So I bought it!
Plucky fingering!
And look at the beautiful view of Seattle from the ferry

You can of course take your bikes on the ferry and clyde around Bainbridge island

The Churchmouse

Here we are at Bainbridge Island near Seattle
A very good yarn shop indeed - well worth the lovely ferry journey of about 30 minutes from Seattle

The twin cities - cycling heaven with yarn as a bonus!

Minneapolis and St Paul - the twin cities
One of the top US cities for cyclists
And it has four yarn shops!

Nothing my husband likes better than a good puncture - so he was quite happy when ons of the rental bikes popped!

Now just look at the shelf on the corner for the knitted statue of liberty!

And how about this for a bike!  I think it took 6 to peddle it
